Welcome parents, kids, teens, grandparents, teachers, and the incurably
curious to what is wonderful and what
would that be? Well that would be the eleven (11) young men
who make up the New 2008 Summersville Orioles
Baseball Team.
The
year started off with us having thirteen (13) scheduled games.
With all of the rain we had during the beginning of the season
several games where rescheduled and one (1) inter-league game
was cancelled. With all that said, this team has the opportunity
to do something very few who have been on a sports team
have done and that is go undefeated. Our June 3rd game was cancelled due to weather
and now we have one (1) game left on the schedule - Sat, 6-7-2008 Rangers @ 0900
hrs
They have performed very well as we
have played ten (10) games and have won them all. It has
not been easy as this team is not bigger or stronger than
the competition but have pulled together as a team and displayed a strong determination
not to lose. They on the most part have played smart earning each win with hard fought
victories.
I have added
a new menu tabbed "Finals". This menu area features capsoles of each game. Just take a
look at the game capsoles to see how the bird boys managed to win those close
games.
For example, Game #6 against the defending champion
Mets. Down 9 - 2 the team regrouped and held the Mets to just 2 runs in
3 at bats or game #10 when we were down in the bottom of the fifth to the Craigsville Pirates with one (1) out and
a RBI - triple wins the
game.
