The rematch was set a few days after the Orioles had dismantled
a very good Rangers team. The Rangers this time entered the game bringing all of
their eligible pitching aces. This game was a defensive gem through the first four (4)
inning but in the end the Orioles showed that they also had
quality pitching and quality batters. The birds took control of the game late
by scoring nine (9) runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The game start with the
birds going to the plate, where four (4) batters made an appearance,
of the four only Billy Rapp reached base on a walk. The Rangers
came in and seven (7) hitters came to the plate. They had four
(4) players on base with two (2) hits and two (2) walks but only managed
to score one (1) run. At the end of one (1) inning the Rangers
held a 1 - 0 lead.The Orioles sent five (5) birds to the
plate in the top of the 2nd. Jacob Grose led off with a base
hit bunt and was followed by Dustin LaVancher with a walk. The
next three (3) batters were casualties at the plate but the Birds
managed to get Jacob Grose home to score one (1) run. The
bottom of the 2nd had the Ranger send nine (9) players to the
plate. After one (1) out the Rangers rallied on three (3) hits
and two (2) walks to score two (2) runs before the bird defense
set them down. After two (2) inning the Ranger led 3 -
1.The 3rd inning was not kind the to the birds
as again only four (4) player made a plate appearance with Logan
Cole getting a free pass. The Orioles defense and pitching
aces regrouped and it was a 1 - 2- 3 inning. After three (3)
complete innings the Rangers 3 - 0.The
Orioles offense began to awake from a short slumber as eight
(8) birds make a plate appearance. Rapp and LaVanchaer get
their 2nd free pass and Grose carded his 2nd hit of the
game. Matt Moore and Caleb Wynne also earn free passes as the
Orioles are able to score two (2) runs. The Rangers return to
the plate and only four (4) hitters make the trip. The Orioles
do not allow a run to cross the plate for the second inning make the
score 3 - 3. After four complete innings the score is now
knotted three (3)a peice.The Orioles more
confident send ten (10) players to the plate. The Orioles
reached the 5 run limit after eight (8) boys walk (Cole, Bennett,
Rapp, Grose, LaVancher, Moore & Jones) Bradford had a key hit, a
double in the middle of the walks which netted him 2 RBI's.
The Rangers came to the plate sending seven (7) hitters. They got two (2) hits and Two (2) walks to score
two (2) runs. After five (5) complete inning the Orioles now take the lead 8 - 5. The
Orioles with thier last bat in the top of the sixth sent eight players
to the plate. Logan Cole would lead off with a double up the
middle. He would be followed by Joey Yeager's single, a bunt down the third base
line. Matt Bennet would walk and Rapp would take his fourth free pass of the game but
on this occasion it would not be free as he would sacrafice his shin to a wild pitch. Jason Bradford would get
his second hit of the game which would help the Orioles score four (4) run in the inning. The Rangers would bat and score five (5) runs to
end the game with the Orioles claiming victory 12 - 10.
