The undefeated Orioles in game #6 go against the mighty Mets, the Champions of the 2007 season. The Mets batted first and sent seven (7) players to the plate.The first two (2) batters didn't fare well against the Orioles pitching ace.The Mets did score four (4) runs during a two (2) out rally in which they carded several hits and walks. The Orioles came uo to bat and sent six (6) birds to the plate. Matt Bennettlaid down a beautiful bunt. A bad throw over the 1st baseman head and then another bad throw to 3rd base would result in Matt running all the bases for our first score of the game. Billy Rapp would come andget a basehit and score on aJason Bradford sacrafice. We would tally two (2) runs. the score after one (1) inning would be in the favor of the Mets 4 - 2.

The Mets started the second inning with several base hits and tallied a total of five(5) hits in the inning. They sent eight (8) batters to the plate and the Orioles defense allowed five (5) runs. The Orioles not be outdone also scored five (5) runs in the bottom half of the inning. It started withwalks by Matt Moore, Logan Cole and Casey Jones. Caleb Wynne would card a basehit with two (2) RBI's with a grounder between the pitcher and second basemen. Joey Yeager and Matt Bennett also had base hits. The score after two (2) complete innings would be in the favor of the Mets - 9 -7.

 

The Mets in the third felt the wrath of the Orioles pitching staff and defense shutting them down to just four (4) plate appearances allowing only one (1) hit during the inning. The Orioles would start off with a lead off triple by Billy Rapp. The next batter, Jason Bradford would get a base hit and also card an RBI. Afew batters latter Matt Moore would draw a walk, then Logan Cole would card a double as well as an RBI. Logan would score on a wild pitch after Jonathon Dorsey walked. The Orioles would score four (4) runs and take their first lead of the game 11 - 9.

The Orioles allowed a lead off hit but again pulled the rug out from the Mets plate and held them to no runs and only watch four met hitters approach the plate. The Orioles hungry to put away the game sent eight (8)birds to the plate Casey Jones and Caleb Wynneeachbattle and earn free passes to the base paths.Joey Yeager would come up and stroke the ball for his second hit of the game,he would card an RBI for the hit. Jason Bradford wouldhit a 2 bagger and be followedwith a single by Jacob Grose. The Orioles would card three (3) runs and end the inning winning by five (5) runs. The score after four complete innings Orioles 14 - Mets 9.


The Mets needing a rally to extend the game would only send five (5) batters to the plate in the 5 th inning as the Orioles pitching and defense took over the game. The Mets batters would get a couple free passes and a base hitscoring two (2) runs before the last several players struck out. The Orioles win 14 - 11. The Orioles would have twelve (12) hits and seven (7) walks in the game. < /font> < /font >
